This is the painting that started all those paintings you don’t like. Or perhaps you love them. I mentioned previously about how my favourite thing to do on Christmas Day is paint, because it’s a day when anything is possible – and that transmits itself into my painting. It means that the Christmas Day painting time I do is very special, regardless of what comes out. But the Christmas before last, just days after my annual sale in 2022, I began this little treasure. I didn’t finish it for ages, but it opened the door for so many other paintings.
Connemara Bog you say? It’s called that because I had two views in mind when painting it, both in South Connemara. One is Roundstone Bog, and the other is the from over by the entrance to the Rosmuc peninsula as you look northwest across those lakes to the Twelve Bens. I was ecstatic when I painted this – the beginning of it, that is. So I drank wine, it being Christmas and all. Didn’t manage to finish it for another year but life had changed.
UPDATE: This painting is now SOLD.
If you’d like to buy this painting of what a bog looks like in Connemara, please either message me privately (any method) or publicly post a comment below the painting on my website or on Facebook, and if you do so before anybody else I’ll mark it as sold for you and behind the curtain when I get a chance I’ll make arrangements with you for payment (probably bank transfer or cash if you’re known to me, and by another secure method if not) and delivery. It may take me alittle bit of time to see all the notifications about different things and to check everywhere before I respond to you, but I’m getting there.
You might not be able to afford this, or perhaps you’re quite wealthy but it’s just not for you – either way, you might know someone who likes Connemara or dark mountains (but not as dark as Mount Doom), or still waters by sphagnum moss with reeds. Who doesn’t like a reed? Anyway, if you told those people abut my painting that could help me. And them.
