Landscape format in a very loose style of many colours and black ink lines. Front view of a section of a terrace showing 3 buildings on a main street. All buildings are 2 storeys with a shop front at street level. The largest building is in the left. It is pink with 3 window bays wide in the upper storey and a brown double frontage either side of a central narrow door. The building on the right is the same height. It's yellow above a green shop front, and has 2 quite small window bays in its upper floor. The building on the leftt is cropped on the the left edge at its 2nd window. It's a lower height than the other 2. It has a very dark brown frontage at street level. Flecks and blotches of other colours can be seen under and around all buildings. Roofs are all slate in different shades of greys. Signed bottom right: Liam Daly

New Painting #28 “Innishannon, Main Street” (Cork)

Miniature on paper 8.9 cm x 6.4 cm (3.5 in x 2.5 in)

Update: SOLD
€45 (+ €10 Registered post to Ireland, €13 to rest of the world)

The smallest painting of the night’s six paintings. Please NOTE THE SIZE. This is very small – it fits in the palm of your hand. Look at your hand. The third in what is now a series – of street scenes of the towns and villages of Ireland. Already in this collection we’ve had Naas and Gorey, both of which are sold, but now it’s the turn of West Cork.

A street to me is a wonderland of right angles, a collection of squares and rectangles that I could look at for a long time and paint forever. I probably will. It’s also a place to buy bread, to drink tea, and to talk to strangers. I’ve done all of those things in Innishannon more than once. And I’ll be doing it again. But in the meantime here’s this little painting of a section of its Main Street.

UPDATE: This painting is now SOLD.
If you’d like to buy this miniature painting of Innishannon message me somewhere or post a comment saying so before anyone else does, and whoever shouts at me first I’ll then privately make arrangements for payment (likely by bank transfer or cash if you’re known to me, and by another secure method if not).

As ever, all comments and likes and shares help – especially on any paintings that haven’t sold, but whatever works for you is good.
