Most people when they think of Dublin’s Wellington Quay think of the western end of the quay and the Clarence Hotel, the Workman’s, the Bison Bar, and other rather famous buildings. When I say most people, I mean me – most people don’t actually think of Wellington Quay. Anyway, if you’ve followed my paintings for the last 20 years you’ll know I love Dublin’s quays and have painted almost all of them, some several times (but not the docklands yet although – shush – I’m working on that).
The River Liffey in town is usually a thick green brown soup, and it used to smell exactly like that when I was younger. But nowadays it’s cleaner and sometimes the sun shines and the river stills and doesn’t it only go and give you a very good reflection – which actually is a lot more work to paint than if it just did the bouncing brown green soup thing. Still, this is it. If you’re wondering where exactly it is, the Ha’penny bridge is one-metre off-picture to the left, and the Millennium Bridge is off picture to the right.
If you’d like to buy my Dublin painting of “Wellington Quay East” please either message me privately by any method or publicly post a comment below the painting on my website or on facebook, and if you do so before anybody else (I’ll have to check lots of places, and maybe even the timestamps) I’ll mark it as sold for you then privately make arrangements with you for payment (probably by bank transfer or cash if you’re known to me, and by another secure method if not) and delivery. It can take me a bit of time to get to you or even to see your messages and comments tonight because, well there’s lots of activity.
If you wouldn’t like to buy it I’m still very appreciative of you as a person.
