Landscape format. On white paper with the sky left blank. A 3-storey square large colourful building is in the centre forming the corner of two streets. IT is painted in bold graphic shapes completely covering the building in diamond and triangular shapes. Poolbeg St is to the left with the triple-pub front of the 3-storey Mulligans next door, then 3 more narrow 3-storey buildings with shop fronts at street level before a couple of higher very modern blocks of pale grey and green glass at the left edge. To the right is Tara St with about half a dozen shops and cafes, all 2-storeys with brown brick upper floor, before the balustrades of a quay are seen and across the river the tall square tower of Liberty Hall with each strip of blue and green windows separated by a strip of grey concrete. On its top is a pale green little square hat with a zig-zag brim. Signed bottom right Liam Daly.

I’ve drank in Mulligans for 40 years, legally. Beyond that I wouldn’t like to say. And nowadays I get my bus home from town from Tara Street. So I’m feeling more attached this last couple of years. To the street, you understand, I’m still single. The Tara Building is a touch difficult to ignore and I’ve always had a thing for the stripes of Liberty Hall and its funny little hat. So here they all are in one picture.

UPDATE: This painting is now SOLD.
If you’d like to buy my “Poolbeg St & Tara St” painting please either message me privately by any method or publicly post a comment below the painting on my website or on facebook, and if you do so before anybody else (I may have to check timestamps) I’ll mark it as sold for you then privately make arrangements with you for payment (probably by bank transfer or cash if you’re known to me, and by another secure method if not) and delivery. It can take me a bit of time to get to you or even to see your messages and comments. Facebook particularly groans giving notifications under the weight of a lot of activity. But I’ll keep checking and get to you.

If you wouldn’t like to buy it I’m still very appreciative of likes and shares and phone calls and whispers. And cups of tea.
