Square format. A horizon divides the painting into a top and bottom half. The bottom has painterly low alizarin bog vegetation and very pale blue bolies of water in pools the cover an even great4er area. Along the horizon are some strips of land of yellow ochre and maroon, and along the horizon juts up a rocky ridge of mountains with two triangular peaks. Sky is a painterly pale blue with a hint of teal.

New Painting #5 “Roundstone Bog” (Galway)

“Roundstone Bog”  (County Galway)
MDF panel, 10 cm x 10 cm (3.95 in x 3.95 in)

Update: SOLD
€75  (+ €13 Registered post to Ireland; €15-€20 to rest of world)

The smallest of tonight’s paintings – PLEASE NOTE THE MEASUREMENTS – In old money it’s basically 4 inches by 4 inches i.e. you can hold this in your hand. The mdf panel it’s painted on is 3mm thick (just eyeballing it). Anyway, Roundstone bog made a huge impression on me. I like bogs a lot anyway. But the bog in between Roundstone and the Twelve Bens is a kind of wonderland of water and bog vegetation, littered with stories and legands. I’ll be painting it again.

UPDATE: This painting is now SOLD
If you’d like to buy this painting message me or post a comment saying so before anyone else does, and whoever shouts at me first I will then privately make arrangements for payment with (Likely by bank transfer or cash if you’re known to me, and by another secure method if not). If it’s not for you because, well for any reason including it not being your cup of tea – you can always help me by pointing people towards it who consider bogs or mountains or Connemara or Galway, or all of the above, their cup of tea.
