Rectangular format. Against a painterly turquoise background is the head and shoulders of a cow, facing right with its head turn a little towards the viewer but not so much that we see the eye on the other side. Rendered in pale purples and creams and grey-greens with underlying strokes of pink and orange and some details in teal and alizarin, he's a shaggy beast with an electric edge of white and yellow where his hair is backlit. Some of its lower shoulder is in shadow of dark blue with lighter straggles hanging down over it and some purple drips deliberately running down into it. Pink inside the far backlit ear, and dark blue inside the near shadow side ear. Signed Liam Daly.

Painting: “Bovine II”

“Bovine II” (Cow painting)

The 2nd painting in what now seems to be a series, this was in progress for a few years. Like the first cow it’s another long hairy yoke with a great face. And like the first cow it’s probably a bullock. There were a couple of such creatures in the field opposite a cottage I stayed in once and I’ve been planning their paintings ever since. Anyway, this is what happens when a cow eats Ready Brek. Naturally backlit. I think he looks great from across the room.

The original cow painting is sold but prints of “Bovine II” are available here (You’ll find them in multiple sizes up to extra-large and in various formats as well as the standard Art Print)
