Tennis Elbow
Painting is on a go slow at the moment thanks to developing Tennis Elbow in the rush for the Rathmines Show. It got worse through May untiil finally in June I could no longer paint with my right hand at all.
Currently I'm teaching myself to paint with my left hand - the drawing is going well - and through one arm or the other hope to have new paintings before too long. It's looking less and less likely that I'll manage any of the planned shows during the summer however but something should happen online at least.
Meanwhile, to keep juices flowing, over on Bicyclistic I've been posting photos.

Some paintings of mine will be on display in the Swan Centre in Rathmines as part of a group art exhibition in the 2009 Rathmines Festival.
The exhibition is open from noon to 7pm from Thursday, April 23 through to Sunday, April 26.
If you see me there I'll be the one with the large unkempt beard.

Auction of Painting for Charity
I'm currently auctioning for charity one of my paintings, Rosmuc, An Aill Bhuí, that was exhibited at the 2009 Irish Blog Awards in the Cork International Airport Hotel.
The auction was started at 99 cents, but after 10 bids it's up to 117.50 euros which is still fairly cheap for a painting 24 inches long by 8.
The end date and time is: March 09, 2009, 16:23:34 GMT. Details on Bicyclistic.com

New Blog Launched: Bicyclistic
For anyone interested in the details of the personal life of the artist, including the day to day developments of art matters, you can now find them them on Bicyclistic.
I'll continue to make announcements here about this website and major news regarding paintings, but your more typical blog stuff will appear on Bicyclistic.
If you're wondering who the readers of Bicyclistic are, they are mostly those who followed my other blogs, Irish KC for the last 3 years and American Hell for the last 2.
Irish KC retains all the various personal and humorous posts such as the Cottage Chronicles, the Cycle Across America journal, and those in the Questions series, the Conversations posts, and in the series of posts looking at the little differences between Ireland and America.
Plus Irish KC also retains posts such as A Bad Pint which are personal when you think about it, as are all of those in the Meanderings and the Nostalgia categories.
American Hell continues as the cartoon site site it is, personal or otherwise.

Sale of Irish Paintings Ends Dec 24
My big sale of Irish paintings - the one with free shipping worldwide and as much as 90% off some prices - will end on December 24.
Because it's Christmas Eve and everybody has better things to do I'll end it at 6pm Irish time (noon, Kansas City time). 33 pieces have sold but there's still a fair few left (especially among the abstracts) before I end the free shipping and put the prices back up.
And even though people have other things to do right now, I'll add in a few more paintings before it ends.

Black Friday Irish Art Sale
Updated: Gearing up for a big sale of paintings starting Black Friday, November 28 Cyber Monday, December 1, 2008.
Free shipping worldwide is being offered, and some paintings are priced at as much as 90% less than their gallery prices.
The paintings will be posted on Irish KC.
The sale will probably run for about 2 weeks, maybe longer. Although there are many new pieces in this sale I'm hoping that this will be the last sale where I sell off the family silver, as it were, and that future sales will concentrate on new work.

November Sale
A large sale of paintings is planned for the week beginning November 24th, 2008.
It probably won't be ready to go on the Monday, but I don't imagine I'll let it slip too much given that, for those who might want a painting by Christmas, the last posting date of parcels by regular post from Ireland to the US/Australia/New Zealand is December 8th.
It's too early to say what those paintings will be - at the time of writing there are over 100 unfinished paintings in the studio - but I expect there to be a mix of landscape, cityscape, Celtic, abstract, and figurative. Most are of Ireland. I think.
Again a variety of surfaces will feature, including canvas, panel, board, and paper.
I'll know a lot more a week from now.

New Studio
I'm currently setting up a new studio in Dublin for painting.
Most unfinished paintings, as well as frames, canvases, paints and everything else that makes up my workspace are now in place there. Just as soon as the power and plumbing is finished I'll be producing new paintings.
The studio will be set up so I can receive visitors who wish to browse paintings in the flesh.
News of paintings will appear here soon. A big sale is planned for late November timed to ensure I can ship any paintings sold in time to reach people for Christmas.
