It was the Texas Panhandle and it was raining. There's not a whole lot of trees on the panhandle. Indeed I cycled past the monument to the first tree there. The sky was fantastically dark for once, but the wind roared as usual on the High Plains.
Strangely, it all reminded me of Kent in Southern England. On a windy rainy day on the Downs of course.
