When I cycled across the US I went east to west, because that's how the land was colonized (not counting the southwestern business), but I also cycled south, and north, and south again. Just because. It did mean I cycled for two thousand miles on the Plains though. Alone.
It's impossible not to love natural grasses and wild flowers. And it's impossible to see them from a car.
