I painted this on my knee out the side upstairs window as I looked down the Cliff Road. The day before the sea was blowing up over the road and a JCB and three trucks went by with people in the backs of them; they called it a St. Patrick's Day Parade.
In a different year I had my first seaweed bath in the Edwardian baths down the Cliff Road by the pier. Seminal moment.
